Next-Door Rental Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us.  This Privacy Policy describes how Next-Door Rental (NDR) collects and processes your personal information through NDR websites, devices, products, services, online and physical stores, and applications that reference this Privacy Policy (together “NDR Services”). By using NDR Services you are consenting to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1 Personal Information Collected is:

  • Used lawfully, fairly and in a transparent way
  • Collected only for valid purposes that we have clearly explained to you and not used in any way that is incompatible with those purposes
  • Relevant to the purposes we have told you about and limited only to those purposes
  • Accurate and kept up to date
  • Kept only as long as necessary for the purposes we have told you about
  • Kept securely

2 What Personal Information Does NDR Collect?

We collect your personal information to continually improve our services and provide security to the NDR community.

Here are the types of personal information we collect:

  • Information You Give Us. We receive and store any information you provide in relation to NDR Services.  You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our NDR Services.  Examples of what we collect include:

(i) Your Contact Information

(ii) Your Listings if applicable

(iii) Your Application Preferences

(iv) GPS location for pictures and proximity to items.

(v) Date and Time for pictures taken

  • Automatic Information. We automatically collect and store certain types of information about your use of NDR Services, including information about your interaction with products and people through NDR Services. Like many websites, we use “cookies” and other unique identifiers, and we obtain certain types of information when your web browser or device accesses NDR Services and other content served by or on behalf of NDR on other websites.  Examples of automatic information may include:

(i) Your location

(ii) Transaction History

(iii) Your use History

(iv) Cookies and other Identifiers

3  Why Does NDR Collect Your Personal Information?

We use your personal information to operate, provide, develop, and improve the products and services that we offer our customers. These purposes include:

  • Rent of products and services. We use your personal information to handle your transactions, to explore products, process payments, and communicate with you about orders, products and services, and promotional offers.
  • Provide, troubleshoot, and improve NDR Services. We use your personal information to provide functionality, analyze performance, fix errors, and improve the usability and effectiveness of the NDR Services.
  • Recommendations and personalization. We may use your personal information to recommend features, products, and services that might be of interest to you, identify your preferences, and personalize your experience with NDR Services.
  • Provide image and camera services. When you use our image and camera services, we use your images, videos, and other personal information to respond to your requests, provide the requested service to you, and improve our services.
  • Comply with legal obligations. In certain cases, we collect and use your personal information to comply with laws. For instance, we collect from Lenders information regarding place of establishment for identity verification and other purposes.
  • Communicate with you. We use your personal information to communicate with you in relation to NDR Services via different channels (e.g., by phone, email, chat, messaging).
  • We may use your personal information to display interest-based ads for features, products, and services that might be of interest to you. We do not use information that personally identifies you to display interest-based ads.
  • Fraud Prevention and Credit Risks. We use personal information to prevent and detect fraud and abuse in order to protect the security of our customers, NDR, and others. We may also use scoring methods to assess and manage credit risks.

4 Does NDR Share Your Personal Information?

Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling our customers’ personal information to others. Other than as set out below, you will receive Policy when personal information about you might be shared with third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.  We share customers’ personal information only as described below.

  • Transactions involving Third Parties. We make available to you products, and payment options provided by third parties for use on or through NDR Services. For example, as a Renter, you can rent from a Lender (a third party), or as a Lender, you can lend to a Renter (a third party) through platform.  Further, we only share information with that Third Party:
    • When and if that information is needed to make the transaction.
    • If needed to resolve a dispute
      You can tell when a third party is involved in your transactions.
  • Third-Party Service Providers. We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include processing payments, transmitting content, managing credit risk, and providing customer service. These third-party service providers have access to personal information needed to perform their functions but may not use it for other purposes.
  • Business Transfers. As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy this/other businesses or services. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy (unless, of course, the customer consents otherwise).
  • Protection of NDR and Others. We disclose account and other personal information when we believe disclosing is appropriate to comply with the law; enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions; or protect the rights, property, or safety of NDR, our user, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

5 How Secure Is My Personal Information?

  • We design our systems with your security and privacy in mind.
  • We work to protect the security of your personal information during transmission by using encryption protocols and software.
  • We do not store your payment information. We use a secure payment gateway “Stripe”.
  • We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in connection with the collection, storage, and disclosure of personal customer information. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we disclose personal information to you.
  • Our devices offer security features to protect them against unauthorized access and loss of data. You can control these features and configure them based on your needs using the security settings on your IOS and/or Android device.
  • It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computers, devices, and applications. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.

6 What About Advertising?

NDR does not currently enlist Third-Party Advertisers or use Third Party Advertising Services at this time.  NDR reserves the right to change this at any time.

7 What Information Can I Access?

You can easily access your information, including your name, address, payment options, profile information, subscriptions, product information, your unavailability dates, and purchase history in the Profile section of the application on your device.

8 What Choices Do I Have?

If you have any questions as to how we collect and use your personal information, please contact our Customer Service. Many of our NDR Services also include settings that provide you with options as to how your information is being used.

  • As described above, you can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of the NDR Services.
  • You can add or update certain information on your profile pages. When you update information, we may keep a copy of the prior version for our records.
  • If you do not want to receive email or other communications from us, please adjust your Preferences. If you don’t want to receive in-app notifications from us, please adjust your notification settings in the app or device.
  • Most devices provide users with the ability to change device permissions. For most devices, these controls are located in the device’s settings menu. If you have questions about how to change your device permissions on devices manufactured by third parties, we recommend you contact your mobile service carrier or your device manufacturer.

In addition, to the extent required by applicable law, you may have the right to request access to or correction of your personal data. If you wish to do any of these things, please contact us and we will be glad to help. Depending on your data choices, certain services may be limited or unavailable.

9 Are Children Allowed to Use NDR Services?

If you are under 18, you may not use NDR Services. We don’t want un-accompanied minors to be meeting with strangers. No exceptions.

10 Conditions of Use, Policies, and Revisions

If you choose to use NDR, your use and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Policy and our Terms and Conditions.

Our business changes constantly to serve you better, and our Privacy Policy may change as well. You should check our website frequently to see recent changes. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Policy applies to all information that we have about you and your account. We stand behind the promises we make and will never materially change our policies and practices to make them less protective of customer information collected in the past.
